Rourk Keegan Chronicles Volume 4 Julia Crane 9781624110283 Books
I just love Julia Crane. She has a way of making you fall into a world like you're right there with the characters. *Warning: possible spoilers*A couple of yrs after Keegan and her chosen elf mate, Rourke marry and get their starter house, Rourk is off to Afghanistan as a soldier in the human army, something elves do before they join the elfin army. As one can expect, there is tragic loss in that 'family' before there is tragic loss in his & Keegan's. There is a happy ending, but not before fighting a d'jinn and traveling half way around the world to do it.
Keegan is much more of a fighter in this book than in previous books. Of course, she's in her early 20s now and not in high school. There was a part where her brother- the all Seer, Thaddeus- and she were brushing up on her training that she didn't really use later in the book. That's probably the only part that disappointed me. I'd have liked to see her physically kick some butt a bit more, but she does get away from her attacker and go through a really rough time after wards.
This might not be as dark as some things out there, but for Crane it's darker than usual. The end, however, does justify the means, and that actually makes everything up to that point worth while (which is more than I can say for some "books" out there).

Rourk Keegan Chronicles Volume 4 Julia Crane 9781624110283 Books Reviews
This another great book by Julia Crane. I love Keegan and Rourk they are great characters. It had me teary eyed at parts. I felt for Thad and the things he goes through and I loved how this one ended. I definitely recommend this one everyone. I recommend all her books.
After reading the first three books and then finding this one I had to read it as well, in fact finished all of them with in a day and a half. Right before the ending is sad but it makes up for it in the end. It's an experience that every mother dreads, trust me past experience.
Great job to the author and I hope to read more of your works.
Rourke by Julia Crane was wonderful book and an amazing continuation to the Keegan chronicles books. I have loved all of the books in this series and Rourke was no exception.
The relationship between Rourke and Keegan is so romantic and special...and after reading all of the other stories in the series, I enjoyed this glimpse into their married life.
Rourke is a warrior and I expect him to be strong....but the strength that Keegan showed in this book was amazing. And I definitely cried over the loss that Keegan & Rourke suffered.
Rourk (Keegan's Chronicles 3.5) by Julia Crane
4 1/2
Seeing Rourk's journeys as a warrior, how he handled the stress of his missions was interesting. Reading it with terminology that was accurate was refreshing. His struggles as he knew Keegan was in danger definitely pulled at the heartstrings. As Keegan went through intensely difficult and heartbreaking life changing events it was at times almost hard to read. This was a great continuation of their story.
So many twists and turns and emotional rollercoaster of a book. The detail to the characters are astounding.I could put the book down or a second.
Rourk is an Elfin warrior, which I love. The detail of his life is astounding in itself. The marriage and relationship between him and Keegan just grows more and more and that is something I love in the book.
I can not recommend this book any more then I do. It is a must read and have to go in the series and I can not wait to read the next chapter of their lives.
Julia Crane is an awesome writer and this is brilliantly done.
This was not a bad addition to the Keegan's chronicles books/spin-offs. It got really sad at one point, but the ending was uplifting, and I hope there will be more books. Something happened with Tommy that I would like to hear more about, I would like to learn more about Gavin and at some point in the future, I would like to hear more about the thing that happened at the end.
I think these books are getting better as I go through them. I think Ms. Crane is becoming a better writer the longer she does it. I hope this trend continues if/when more books come out about this world. Fingers crossed.
I really wanted to like this story more.
IMO, the story does not satisfactorily deliver what the teaser (product description) implied. Rourk has the pivotal initial confrontation with the djinn more than 60% into the story. (He only catches passing glimpses of djinns before that point.) Likely if the teaser was worded differently, I'd be happier with the story.
For me, the best parts of the story/book are
(1) The growth/sense of maturity of the characters. Both Rourk and Keegan are in their early 20's when this story opens... and throughout this story they act like young, responsible adults who are very much in love with each other.
(2) The book's cover. (Yes, it's very trivial but there it is. ) )
